Air Liquide to build a world-scale CO₂ capture unit

Air Liquide - Air Liquide will build, own and operate a world-scale carbon capture unit in the industrial basin of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, leveraging its proprietary Cryocap technology. The new unit will be installed at the Group’s hydrogen production plant located in the port of Rotterdam and will be connected to Porthos, one of Europe’s largest carbon capture and storage infrastructure aiming at significantly reducing CO₂ emissions in this large industrial basin.

Decarbonizing the industry

Air Liquide - Air Liquide has selected the three winners of its 2023 Scientific Challenge, out of 119 proposals from 29 countries. This 3rd edition of the Scientific Challenge aimed at identifying and accelerating the development of innovative solutions for the decarbonization of industrial ecosystems, in an open innovation approach. The laureates’ projects will receive funding from Air Liquide to develop their proposed solutions and to transform them into market-ready technologies.

Air Liquide paves the way for ammonia conversion into hydrogen with new cracking technology

Air Liquide - Air Liquide announces the construction of an industrial scale ammonia cracking pilot plant in the port of Antwerp. When transformed into ammonia, hydrogen can be easily transported over long distances. Using innovative technology, this plant will make it possible to convert, with an optimized carbon footprint, ammonia into hydrogen. With this cracking technology, Air Liquide will further contribute to the development of hydrogen as a key enabler of the energy transition.

Air Liquide and TotalEnergies join forces to develop a network of over 100 hydrogen stations for heavy duty vehicles in Europe

Air Liquide - Air Liquide and TotalEnergies announce their decision to create an equally owned joint venture to develop a network of hydrogen stations, geared towards heavy duty vehicles on major European road corridors. This initiative will help facilitate access to hydrogen, enabling the development of its use for goods transportation and further strengthening the hydrogen sector.
