New #5GAAPublication! Our latest white paper, 'Creating Trust in Connected and Automated Vehicles' is available on the 5GAA website. Connected and Automated Vehicles (#CAVs) are complex systems where one node's safety and behaviour affect the whole system's efficiency. These systems can be vulnerable to untrustworthy agents, necessitating a way to measure the trustworthiness of shared data to build trust among cooperative nodes 🤝 This paper defines relevant terms and introduces a taxonomy of trust relationships. It lists trustworthiness properties in cooperative intelligent transport systems (#CITS) and CAVs, emphasizing the need for dynamic, real-time trust assessments and verification of evidence, even when uncertainty is present, as a crucial part of the trust assessment approach. 🚲🆕 More and more bike brands are adopting #CV2X for better road safety. Pedestrian and cyclist fatalities continue to soar according to the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA), posing a serious crisis on US roads. Current car safety tech, reliant on line of sight, struggles to identify hazards like cyclists swiftly. #CV2X is increasingly being recognised as the solution as it allows vehicles to communicate via cellular networks and also directly, transmitting location data rapidly and potentially preventing collisions even beyond line of sight. Across the United States, the Coalition for Cyclist Safety (which includes 5GAA members Autotalks, AUDI AG, Qualcomm, Commsignia, and Deutsche Telekom) is at work to enable C-V2X technology in cars and bicycles and improve road users' safety—and important players in US biking are coming on board. 🔵 To learn more, read this new article on the potential impact of C-V2X technologies on #roadsafety. https://lnkd.in/gCm78NSf
